About

I am an interventional cardiologist at Einstein Hospital Israelita in São Paulo, Brazil, where I have worked since 2021. I am a PhD candidate in two programs: at the Albert Einstein Faculty of Health Sciences (FICSAE) and in DigiCardioPath at Sapienza University of Rome.
On this site I publish critical reviews of scientific papers and posts on statistics, clinical research and computing.
Training
- MD, Botucatu Medical School (UNESP), 2011.
- Residency in internal medicine (2013–2015), cardiology (2015–2017) and interventional cardiology and hemodynamics (2017–2019) at the Heart Institute (InCor), University of São Paulo.
- Board certified in cardiology (SBC, 2017) and in interventional cardiology (SBHCI/AMB, 2019). TAVI certification (SBHCI/SBCCV/AMB).
Research
- Intravascular imaging (IVUS and OCT) and plaque inflammatory phenotype.
- Coronary physiology (FFR, iFR, QFR, μFR).
- Pre-TAVI computed tomography and coronary assessment.
- Calcium modification: intravascular lithotripsy and rotational atherectomy.
- Drug-coated balloons.
- Computational modeling of coronary geometry and blood flow.
I have 19 publications from 2018 to 2026, including papers in the Journal of the American College of Cardiology, EuroIntervention and Coronary Artery Disease. I have presented at EuroPCR every year from 2022 to 2026. Awards: best abstract at the SBHCI Congress 2025 (FIRE-OCT study) and at EuroPCR RioValves 2025 (TACT study).
Statistics and computing
- Applied biostatistics in R and Python.
- Research software for IVUS, FFR and μFR, computational modeling of blood flow, and neural networks.
- Software for data curation and statistical analysis.
Peer review
Reviewer for EuroIntervention, European Heart Journal, BMC journals and Arquivos Brasileiros de Cardiologia.
